Nuon V2 Guarded Launch: February 2025
In just a few days, we are beginning a controlled initial deployment of Nuon V2, the next step in the evolution of yield-bearing stablecoins.
Nuon V2 protocol offers new functionalities, all designed to solve a fundamental issue of how to make yields sustainable long-term regardless of the market and to safeguard stablecoins against USD inflation.
To do that, Nuon V2 deploys a community allocation portal accessible through the upcoming strategy coin, which incentivizes defi strategists to allocate the protocol's TVL into yield-bearing assets.
Over time, the portal will begin to function as a de facto prediction market for defi yields, thanks to an incentive design where successful allocations are heavily rewarded while unsuccessful choice-makers get slashed.
Additionally, Nuon V2 offers a range of risk management profiles fit for investors at all levels of risk appetite.
The protocol's defi aggregator and allocation strategies are available to high-risk, high-reward players who, by staking their strategy token, gain access to the community allocations and rewards on the total protocol's TVL. They also get to manage a large capital portfolio.
Stablecoin fans, on the other hand, gain access to relatively low-risk, medium-level yields without the need to manage their portfolio or understand various defi protocols. The inflation yield is streamed directly to Nuon holders' wallets, and most of their risk is transferred onto the strategists of the protocol.
Additionally, at a slightly higher risk, Nuon owners may choose to stake their Nuons to receive strategy tokens in February and be the first to access Nuon's strategies, protocol allocations, and associated rewards, beginning of March 2025.
This marriage of low-risk stablecoin users seeking a secure inflation hedge and high-risk defi players seeking extra rewards is what maintains sustainable yields in the system.
What is Guarded Launch?
Guarded launch is a controlled initial deployment of the Nuon V2 protocol and Nuon V2 token. The gradual character of the launch helps us maintain the protocol's security and test the system's stability in real market conditions before the complete deployment. It's a security measure and an opportunity for invited investors and early birds to get access to the strategy tokens a month before the Token Generating Event.
When is the Token Generation Event (TGE)?
The strategy TGE is scheduled for the 1st week of March 2025, capped at 100M tokens. Small amounts of the strategy token will also be created during the February Guarded Launch as early bird rewards for staking Nuon.
What to expect during the Guarded Launch?
At Guarded Launch, everyone will gain access to the Nuon V2 dashboard and be able to mint Nuon V2 1:1 against USDC. It will also be possible to stake Nuon V2 tokens in exchange for the strategy token. The stakers of Nuon V2 will gain early bird access to strategy tokens before its Token Generating Event.
Users will also be able to acquaint themselves with the V2 dashboard, proposals, allocations and strategies areas, which will become active after the TGE, March 2025.
How to get the strategy token early?
Go to the Nuon V2 portal and purchase Nuon V2 in exchange for USDC. The transaction will instantly mint new Nuon's V2 into your non-custodial wallet.
Go to the staking section of the dashboard and stake your tokens. You will begin to receive the strategy token rewards.
The staking has an unbinding time of 21 days, and your strategy token rewards will not be sellable or movable until the official TGE in the 1st week of March.
