Nuon v2 Referral Program

The strategy token that powers Nuon v2 is coming very soon, and with it comes our new referral program.

Starting February 2025, whenever you invite someone to mint and stake Nuon, you receive a share referral program rewards, paid out in the strategy token. It's a great way to access strategy tokens before anyone else and get the largest chunk of referral rewards before more referrers and stakers catch on.

The best part is that you continue to earn referral rewards for as long as your referred TVL remains staked and for up to 2 years of the duration of the program. 

So, how much do you actually earn? 

Two percent of the total 100 million strategy tokens (2 million tokens) is set aside for referral rewards, distributed evenly over 24 months. This means 83,333 strategy tokens are released each month (2,000,000 ÷ 24).

The program is entirely merit-based, meaning the more TVL you attract, the more of those rewards you earn.

What’s the catch? 

You have to ensure that your referrals use your unique referral link and that the tokens they mint against USDC remain staked. We can only track the staked tokens. 

You then get a share of the rewards proportional to your referral stake within all the referred amounts. 

Still feels complicated? 

Let’s look at two scenarios. 

Scenario 1: Higher Referral Share at Early Stages

• The total amount of staked Nuon is $1M USDC, with 90% ($900K USDC) coming from referrals.
• Your referrals jointly stake $100K USDC.
• You contributed 11% of all referrals (100K / 900K).
• Your share of 8,333 monthly strategy tokens is 916 tokens per month (8,333 * 11%).
• This remains true only as long as your referral share remains the same compared to the total referral amount within the TVL. 

Scenario 2: Growing Protocol TVL Reduces Individual Shares

• The protocol TVL increases to $5M USDC, with 90% ($4.5M USDC) coming from referrals.
• Your referred contribution remains $100K USDC.
• Your new referral share is 2.2% (100K / 4.5M).
• Your monthly reward is now 183 strategy tokens (8,333 * 2.2%).

And remember, the rewards pay out only as long as your referred TVL share remains staked and up to 24 months from the start of the program. 

What's the upside of being early?

If you look closely, the above scenarios suggest that at the beginning, at the lower protocol TVL, it will be easier for you as the Nuon ambassador to get a larger chunk of the rewards at a relatively lower referral amount.

As the protocol's TVL increases, it will become advantageous to encourage more stakers to join the protocol and increase your stake in the referral rewards. 

Either way, the referral program offers excellent opportunities for a potentially long-term passive income and early access to Nuon's strategy tokens, which, in turn, open up opportunities for defi traders and knowledgeable yield seekers.
